Sweet Valentine Freebies!

February 3rd, 2010

Ok, so you’re not exactly the “make-my-own-Valentine’s Day-cards” type of person.  Next best thing?  Becoming a “kinda-sorta-make-my-own-Valentine’s-Day-cards” person.  Paper Crave, a fun & creative paper goods site, has done most of the legwork by posting a list of some free printable Valentine’s Day greetings.  Cute stuff and it’s free?!? Valentine’s Day just got a whole lot sweeter.

Support Local Farms, Get Fresh Produce

January 6th, 2010

Sounds simple right?  It really IS that easy to get fresh, quality organic produce as often as weekly!  Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a new idea in farming where a community of individuals pledge support to a local farming operation so that the farmland essentially becomes the community’s farm.  The South Central Farmer’s Cooperative grows all of its’ produce in Bakersfield and community members from Los Angeles travel there each week to clean, harvest and plant the produce.  For as little as $15 per box, you can bring the farm to the city.
