Esther’s spending the week in Hawaii while I’m holding down the Plum fort. I’m a bit envious of her, especially after she posted these gorgeous shots!
Here’s a yummy patriotic twist on the classic Ice Cream Float! All you gotta do is substitute your regular soda pop with red and blue soda (yes, they do exist; yes, they are available in your local grocery) and your family will be celebrating the 4th of July with frosty treats in hand! This colorful cake is an oldie on the blogosphere, but definitely still a goodie. Doesn’t it just put a smile on your face? Get the recipe at Whisk Kid’s blog and send us the finished product please. Via Twig & Thistle

Ok, so you’re not exactly the “make-my-own-Valentine’s Day-cards” type of person. Next best thing? Becoming a “kinda-sorta-make-my-own-Valentine’s-Day-cards” person. Paper Crave, a fun & creative paper goods site, has done most of the legwork by posting a list of some free printable Valentine’s Day greetings. Cute stuff and it’s free?!? Valentine’s Day just got a whole lot sweeter. Fox and Panda Valentine Card by Danielle of Thompson Family-Life
Sounds simple right? It really IS that easy to get fresh, quality organic produce as often as weekly! Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a new idea in farming where a community of individuals pledge support to a local farming operation so that the farmland essentially becomes the community’s farm. The South Central Farmer’s Cooperative grows all of its’ produce in Bakersfield and community members from Los Angeles travel there each week to clean, harvest and plant the produce. For as little as $15 per box, you can bring the farm to the city. |
