“There’s no crying in baseball!” That line was spoken by Tom Hanks in one of our favorite movies, “A League of Their Own” and every time we hear it, it makes us double over with laughter. For those who haven’t seen it, “A League of Their Own” is a fictional story about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League which was in action from 1943-1954. Although, the movie is obviously fictional, it provides us with a brief glimpse into the “other” side of America’s favorite pastime, where the gals played while the boys were away.
The City of Fullerton Museum is premiering an exhibit called “Line Drives & Lipstick: The Untold Story of Woman’s Baseball.” The exhibit features 45 images and 10 objects selected from one of the nation’s largest collections of women’s baseball memorabilia. For all you history buffs and baseball fans, make your way over to Fullerton soon as this exhibit will run until March 15, 2009. Click below for more information.

One Cool Pick {from} One Cool Chick is a daily blog created by a professional designer/writer/art director who’s also a full-time mom. She delivers fresh picks (almost) everyday…and her picks range from cool stuff for kids to unique finds for mom.
As amateur bakers, we were so excited to see this Alphabet/Number Cake Pan on her blog. Now, you can use the same cake pan to celebrate your child’s 1st birthday and your favorite aunt’s 65th birthday. We may not be Julia Child or Martha Stewart, but we can sure fool people into thinking we are!

Nowadays, it’s all about these teensy, technologically advanced digital cameras (yawn). But back in our days, Polaroid cameras were THE gadgets to have. There’s just something about the simplicity, yet grittiness, of the picture that popped out that was so comforting and real. To our sadness though, Polaroid cameras went bye-bye a couple of years ago…it was as if a childhood friend had passed on.
Poladroid.net has a fantastic program called a “Polaroid Image Maker” where you can turn your images into Polaroid pictures. Just download the program off of Poladroid’s website and you’ll have your very own “digital” Polaroid camera right on your desktop. Then, all you do is drag your fave picture onto the Poladroid Camera and voila! You’ve just turned your picture into a Polaroid picture!
